What does NEXTA Studio do?
NEXTA Studio prepares architectural plans, permit drawings, structural engineering, civil engineering, grading plans and MEP plans for residential and commercial projects. We serve homeowners, contractors and business owners in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and Florida. All drawings are signed and sealed by our licensed engineer.
What types of projects do you work on?
We draw plans for home additions, new homes, basement conversions, deck and porch permits, kitchen and bathroom renovations, ADUs (accessory dwelling units), rowhouse renovations, commercial build-outs, restaurants, retail stores and office fit-outs.
Do I need a licensed engineer for my permit drawings?
Many jurisdictions in DC, Maryland, Virginia and Florida require drawings to be signed and sealed by a licensed engineer or architect before the building department will accept them. NEXTA Studio provides stamp-ready drawings — our licensed engineer reviews and seals every set we submit.
How long does it take to get permit drawings?
Most residential permit drawing sets are ready in one to three weeks from the time we receive your project information, site photos and any existing plans. Larger commercial projects may take longer. We will give you a specific timeline when you request a consultation.
What happens if the building department sends review comments?
We handle building department review comments at no extra charge. If the county or city asks for revisions to your drawings, we revise and resubmit until your permit is approved.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Washington DC, Maryland (including Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Howard County and Anne Arundel County), Northern Virginia (Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun and Prince William) and Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Orlando and Tampa Bay).
